To celebrate International Women’s Day, Head to Curve gifted one lucky human an unforgettable boudoir experience.
Meet Kelcey (she/her): the badass babe behind Dreamy Hue Creative, and our IWD giveaway winner! Kelcey handcrafts trendy polymer clay earrings, pins, barrettes, and so much more (peep her IG linked above for some serious earring inspo ✨). Before even entering the giveaway, we had bonded over our love for Ashley Flowers (shoutout to my fellow Crime Junkies) and all things true crime, our kids being the same age and planning future playdates, being plus-size babes, and running creative small businesses. Let’s just say, Kelcey is total bestie material 😍 soooo, when she was announced as the winner of my International Women’s Day Boudoir Session Giveaway, we were both absolutely geeked! She made the trip from Kalamazoo to Grand Rapids, and the studio I rented was the perfect space for her. Think quirky, colorful, and warm—exactly the right vibe for Kelcey’s fun, creative energy.

She made the trip up to Grand Rapid from Kalamazoo for the day. The studio rented was quite literally the perfect place to highlight this sweet human; a little quirky, colorful, warm and charming. Before diving into the body empowerment portion of the session, we started with some business portraits + flat lays featuring a few pairs of her favorite earrings. Kelcey also brought a few spray paint cans to honor her better half, Guillermo, who’s a mural artist and manages the graffiti wall in the Creston neighborhood alongside her. How cool is that?!

Like most people coming in for their first boudoir session, Kelcey had some nerves. But once we got started, she totally leaned into the experience. Here's what she had to say:
What were you most nervous about?
"Honestly? EVERYTHING! This was the first time I’ve ever done something like this, but I’m so glad I did. Keara kept me laughing and comfortable the entire time, and I can’t stop looking at my photos. I’m seriously so happy with how everything turned out!"
If you could repeat this experience, what would you change?
"Nothing! My hope is to book another session someday!"
Spill the tea: What was your favorite part?
"That surge of confidence I felt in my body. I could feel the difference as we moved through the session—by the end, I felt like a totally different person. It was literally the best feeling EVER!"
If you're thinking about booking a boudoir session but feeling nervous or unsure, take Kelcey's advice: "What are you waiting for? BOOK. THE. SESSION. You don’t need to worry about outfits, fancy makeup, or how your hair looks. Keara is all about embracing you exactly as you are. Trust me—you’re in the best hands possible, and you’re SO worth it!"
